The new year started of good in the sense of ideas and learning.
Shoots within the holidays came out great, and my focus and contrast on shooting analogue are improving greatly.
My Instagram is becoming more active, with the use of mobile phone technology (It burnt me at first but i am slowly understanding the concept of "seeing the image" is what makes the image and not the tools used).
6/01/2020 was the first day back to educational land of the cass, and reflective feedback was given to us all in one to one session for the future of projects that are possible in the pipeline and or are just ideas for now, but we all needed to show and tell something to our class teachers within these tutorial sessions on the first day back.
I discussed with Heather the few ideas i am thinking to create as a project, one being the use of hieroglyphics and photography with recreating the ancient language within the modern society.
The idea is to re create sentences and place them in key areas within London and shoot, and to see what the responses would be. Would they be responses of "knowing what i am doing" or the classic modern attitude of "i just agree because i see it" basically a challenge to see if modern society are on the ball or not. Its an idea for now, it may fruition, but it can related to the project idea of street photography and the realism of what i see around me. Or Capturing The Reality Now.
We was also introduced with sessions with the Large Format Camera with David George, AND THIS AMAZING TO SEE.. The fact that i am using 100 years plus technology in today's society is amazing, but its HARD TO USE. more lesson with this are coming, and i look forward to seeing more skills of using this device.
CCS on the 07/01 was interesting as ever, the 1990's culture of NET ART / DATA FETISHISM / NARATIVITY AND FASCISM within art. I have improved a lot within CCS and it has helped me be more creative in my writing and communication skills.. i now own a Solid DICTIONARY AND THESAURUS because of CCS and of course listening to DR Andrew Hewish and taking on board the great vast knowledge he holds.
I plan to do my Block 2 Essay on TIME and Photography, and how time is used within this practice, which will include reading and research of physics etc.
A talk with Mary Turner on the 09/01/2020 was amazing.
Mary is a former press photographer, but started of from humble backgrounds and not financially stable etc when beginning her work. she has a feeling i love to use, the feeling of shooting in the moment using the spontaneous to the creative.
Mary has anxiety and depression but she gets around this from the expression of her photography.. something i greatly can connect with.
Mary saw my works and simply said "CARRY ON SHOOTING AS I AM, SHOOT WHAT I SEE, SHOOT THE CANDID MOMENTS OF WHAT I FEEL IS HAPPENING AND KEEP THE STORY OF WHAT I SEE AND SHOOT IN MY WORK, BE YOURSELF!!".
GREAT TALK 10/10 for this!
